The role of deductive inference in Wason's selection task has been examined in a series of three experiments. Topics include non-deductive accounts of Wason's task, deductive accounts of the task, how to suppress card choices on the task, and the evidence for deductive inference.

Necessity, possibility and belief: a study of syllogistic reasoning
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns the "belief bias" effect found in syllogistic reasoning, wherein subjects are more likely to produce or accept conclusions that they believe are true, in spite of their logical validity. A model to account for response biases is discussed.
