Wife abuse and its psychological consequences as revealed by the First Palestinian National Survey on Violence Against Women
Article Abstract:
The incidence of violence against Palestinian women is similar to or slightly below that shown by investigations undertaken in Africa and southeast Asia, according to research based on the First Palestinian National Survey of Violence Against Women. It is clear that violence against women has serious psychological repercussions for victims. It was established that the more Palestinian women suffered physical violence, psychological abuse, sexual abuse and economic abuse, the greater the probability of them being angry, scared and psychologically distressed.

Toward a better estimate of the prevalence of partner abuse: adjusting rates based on the sensitivity of the Conflict Tactics Scale
Article Abstract:
The sensitivity data of the Conflict Tactics Scale is used to produce a correction equation to more accurately measure the prevalence of male-to-female spousal abuse when only one spouse is contributing data. Correction factors are presented for earlier studies on interspousal agreement. National studies estimating the annual prevalence of spousal aggression usually rely on reports from only one of the parties involved, which can result in misleading conclusions.
