Colorful presentations
Article Abstract:
The Kroy Color Plus color transfer sign system is an inexpensive alternative to color printers that allows users to add color to laser-printed documents. The $875 system is very easy to use. Publishers simply place a color transfer sheet over a black-and-white original and feed it into the Kroy system. The system transfers color over everything on the sheet that was black. It works so well that no black will show through on large type and graphics, although there can be some seepage with small type and fine lines. Options are available, including Kroy sign frames, color perforated cover paper stock, and the $149 Kroy Sign Studio, which offers templates set up for cover stock. The system is ideal for small projects and for running color proofs for big projects.

Character builder
Article Abstract:
Adobe Systems chmn John Warnock changed the face of desktop publishing when he invented PostScript, a computer program that combines printing and graphic art techniques. Warnock feels that PostScript, and desktop publishing, bring a tradition of visual communication techniques into the microcomputer world. Adobe Systems is working now to develop Japanese character fonts for PostScript, and printers with this feature will soon be available.
