Page makeover: young audiences for Newsweek test requires special design considerations
Article Abstract:
The Newsweek education program, which prepares materials for high school teachers to use along with classroom subscriptions to their magazine, is making their testing materials more visually appealing to students by redesigning the page layout via desktop publishing sources. Design tools include a Macintosh IIx and the Aldus PageMaker and Adobe Illustrator 88 software packages. Fonts include Univers, Univers Condensed font families, and Adobe Helvetica Condensed. Publish! magazine offers page makeovers for company publications. Publish! will select one each month from all submissions.
