Diagram 2.0 for NextStep
Article Abstract:
Lighthouse Design's $499 Diagram for NextStep 2.0 presentation graphics software has the rare ability to create, insert and update flowcharts as a presentation is being developed with minimal drawing and redrawing time. The program creates charts with a wide variety of useful shapes, symbols, fonts and font sizes, fill colors, and gradients. The charts are all conveniently organized in palettes that the user can customize. The program has connector lines and labels attached to graphics and text that allow the user to make changes without having to redraw large portions of the presentation. The user can create original shapes only with straight lines, and but has no free-form drawing options. Diagram will import TIFF and EPS images and crop them into any shape, and can work with other NextStep utility files in the presentations.

101 hot tips
Article Abstract:
One hundred and one tips are provided to enhance the appearance of prepress layouts in DTP. The tips are provided for four major areas: acquisition and imaging, design and illustration, layout and type, and online and onscreen. They deal with manipulation of objects and images, improving trapping, wrapping text inside a graphic, tracing illustrations and Web design. Though only a handful of programs for the Macintosh and Windows are covered, many of the techniques described can be executed by other programs which are available in the market.
