MonacoColor 1.51; Binuscan ColorPro 1.2
Article Abstract:
Monaco Systems Inc's MonacoColor 1.51 and Binuscan Inc's Binuscan ColorPro 1.2 are color management software programs that come recommended. Both programs are designed to take a raw RGB image and use intelligent analysis to convert it to a CMYK file. The programs are similar since they are based on the same technology; a legal battle over who has the rights to that technology ensues. MonacoColor, which costs between $495 and $3,450, is a Adobe Photoshop plug-in. Binuscan ColorPro, which costs $1,950, is a stand-alone product and uses scanner profiles to set saturation, balance, gamma, color, cast and sharpness. ColorPro does a better job than MonacoColor in correcting lighting imbalances.
