Journalism: A killing field
Article Abstract:
The study reveals that in the last three years from 2003, 220 journalists have been murdered during their jobs and most of their deaths have gone uninvestigated. Hundreds of journalists are jailed each year for libel, defamation, corruption, tax fraud or other alleged criminal acts which indicate that the United States and its allies as well as from the other side see journalists to a larger degree as legitimate targets.
