MediaBlitz, Multimedia Make Your Point
Article Abstract:
Asymetrix Corp's $95 MediaBlitz and $89 Multimedia Make Your Point multimedia presentation software allow users to produce multimedia presentations quickly and have all the basic tools needed. MediaBlitz enables users to combine files from various media sources; the program collects and edits clips using ClipMaker, and then puts them on a time line with ScoreMaker and displays them with ScorePlayer. Users can use Dynamic Data Exchange to link files with other Asymetrix applications. Multimedia Make Your Point is not as effective as major presentation programs but does provide sufficient tools to create a polished presentation. Users select one of 30 templates and change colors, fonts and bullets. Bullets included with each template enable users to play audio or animation files or move to another screen. Users cannot edit backgrounds or move buttons or text fields. Both programs allow users to run presentations manually or automatically, or to print them.

Imagician 2.18
Article Abstract:
MacEurope Information Systems Inc's $1,495 Imagician 2.18 is composed of exclusively dedicated propriety software and a NuBus card promising to run faster than high-end workstations. While its hardware is incredibly fast, its software undermines it by its limited processing abilities. The software lacks Undo, Paste, Copy and Cut features, confining users to an involved process of reloading. It has no batch-processing abilities and disregards the conventions of Macintosh image-editing. Imagician is best for simple repetitive tasks, but not for more involved, creative tasks. The system requires 16MB RAM to load onto the NuBus, System 7.0, a full-length NuBus slot and a 030 Macintosh with 8MB RAM.
