QuickTime makes movies on the small screen
Article Abstract:
QuickTime is an extension to Apple's System 7.0 that enables the user to integrate time-based media, such as motion and sound into almost any Macintosh application. The System 7 enhancement allows the transfer of dynamic media from video digitizing media to Macintosh standards, thus permitting the incorporation of text, graphics, animation or digital movies into any program that supports QuickTime. QuickTime is the first product with which a movie maintains synchronization, even if played on a system that is different than the one on which it was produced. QuickTime has four components. The system software includes a Movie Toolbox that helps the user create, edit amd play movies. The Apple Compressors have compression schemes for graphics, animation, video and photography. Human Interface Guidelines help in user interaction, while the file format, MooV, establishes a standard way to manipulate dynamic media.
