Women make the news: UNESCO initiative to put women in leadership positions prompts experiment
Article Abstract:
Women journalists continue to be kept from management positions and are expected to stick to covering 'women's issues. When UNESCO called for news organizations to put women in charge for one week, no organization agreed to participate. Women journalists in India conducted an experiment in response to UNESCO's challenge that measure gender bias in reporting.

CNN reporter Jeff Koinange presented a rather upbeat account on Nigeria's hosting of the 8th All African Games in Abuja, the capital city when he was asked to cover Nigeria. The reporter had elated the description on the facilities as 'world class' and used words to describe a job elegantly accomplished by the managers of the events.
