Article Abstract:
US real estate investment trusts (REITs) are showing some interest in finding property investments in the UK. Property agents welcome the American moves to enter the market because they feel they have something new to offer. They will mainly consider industrial or distribution developments. The UK lacks speculative industrial development, with only 3.23 million sq ft of land being developed. The REITs usually prefer to merge or acquire a UK company to help them cope with differences in the markets. US REIT ProLogis purchased UK developer Kingspark for $157 million.
