An inn on the act
Article Abstract:
The UK Disability Discrimination Act 1995 has important implications for the UK hospitality industry, as it will allow disabled people to take leisure operators to court if they feel they have been discriminated against. The Act covers both disabled employees and customers. It is aimed at ensuring the disabled receive the same quality of service and facilities as the able-bodied. Many operators will be obliged to improve access to their premises to comply with the Act and improve facilities for disabled staff. The act was introduced in 1998 and will be fully implemented by 2004.
