Dot.commers find their spot
Article Abstract:
Many businesses are being attracted to the Clerkenwell area of London, England. There has been some overspill of media and advertising firms from Soho, but Clerkenwell has also attracted the interest of companies in other sectors, including law, telecommunications and the internet. Rents have risen to almost 322 pounds sterling per sq mt, and developers are becoming more confident about launching speculative schemes. There is particularly strong demand from internet companies, which are seeking increasingly large accommodation.

Article Abstract:
Media Office's Mark Wadwha hopes to be on site in early 2000 with a mixed-use office and retail development in St John Street, Clerkenwell, London, England. This scheme will also have a small residential element, along with a 1,858 sq mt media centre available for tenants to rent for presentations. He believes that the development will act as a base from which creative executives will build their websites and media ventures. It will be designed by architectural firm Future Systems.
