Ashford: the final frontier
Article Abstract:
The town of Ashford in Kent, England, looks set for economic growth because of the Channel Tunnel International Passenger Station sited in the town. Eurotunnel Developments, which has two of the three major commercial sites being developed in the area, markets the town as a hub serving the whole of North-West Europe. Ashford faces a threat to its growth as a major European centre in the nearby town of Ebbsfleet, which was chosen to have the third Eurostar terminal by 2002, but the Kent development agency, Locate in Kent, believes that Ashford's earlier start will be advantageous.

Prime time for Severnside
Article Abstract:
The M49 is expected to link the new Second Severn Crossing with the M5. The new motorway will pass through Severnside and a new motorway junction will be located on the southern part of land owned by ICI. The land was originally bought for a petrochemical pland which was never developed, although ICI has planning permission for 607 hectares of commercial development. The new road will also pass over development land owned by RTZ Estates and Bristol city council.
