Be green - or no green light
Article Abstract:
The UK Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 1999 requires all developers to take into consideration the effects on the environment of their plans. A statement regarding environmental aspects of the plans and any methods the developer intends to use to prevent environmental damage should be included in the environmental impact assessment. The document must be presented at planning. All the environmental information must be placed in one document. There is concern the new regulations will increase bureaucracy for developers
