Crime and punishment
Article Abstract:
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has introduced several changes to the rules regarding professional conduct in order to follow the duties set out in the Royal Charter and in response to members' wishes. All companies should have a complaints system which is clearly set out and followed. Fines of up to 5,000 pounds sterling will be imposed on members who do not follow the rules of membership. A class of membership which recognizes technical skills is under consideration and a proposal to include lay delegates to sit on disciplinary boards is also being considered.
