Development dilemma
Article Abstract:
The conversion of Cirencester Town Football Club land into 60,000 sq ft of office space is going ahead in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England. Plans to build new retail outlets in Cirencester are still at the initial stages. Rents for premium retail sites have reached 58 pounds sterling per sq ft. The local authorities in Cirencester face a difficult decision of whether to allow an important employer in the town build on land near houses, which was not planned for development. Sometimes firms threaten to move out of the area if they are not permitted to build where they wish.
