Displaying a systematic approach
Article Abstract:
Speakers at the Association for Geographic Information (AGI) annual conference seemed to be too cautious and did not emphasize the availability of many software applications to assist the management of data. The AGI conference was part of the geographic information systems show (GIS 98). The GIS 98 had many displays showing maps/graphic based systems. The show was held in Birmingham, England. The property computer systems exhibition at the Barbican, London, England, had displayed a wide varity of applications. The two shows could be run together as visitors would find both shows useful.

Publish - and be damn pleased
Article Abstract:
Design Intelligence's i publish desktop publishing (DTP) software is now available in Version 2.0. It is based on the idea that intelligence can be built into a DTP application. The system permits users to select a document group, a layout, fonts and paragraph styles and graphic effects from other sources and then publish. It provides five categories of document, and is able to produce very impressive, high-quality colour documents. It is particularly suitable for estate agents, especially those requiring relatively low volumes of documents.
