Giants hammer out DIY deal
Article Abstract:
The supply of industrial space in Felixstowe, Suffolk, England, is limited but little speculative development is likely to go ahead due to rents only achieving about three pounds sterling per sq ft. Demand for office space in the centre of Ipswich, Suffolk, England, is low compared to demand for offices on the outskirts of town. Many of the office buildings have been refurbished. Two major do-it-yourself retailing companies are in competition for a new 195,000 sq ft retail warehouse building planned for a 32 acre site at Bury Road, Ipswich.

Highs and lows
Article Abstract:
A number of office buildings in Glasgow, Scotland, are being converted into hotels leaving a shortage of large office space. Some new space is under development and should be ready by 2000-2001 including the renovation of the old Scottish Mutual building. Local agents, in Glasgow, point out the office market has not been very active because some tenants face difficulty in breaking their leases whilst others do not move because they have problems in finding new occupiers for their buildings.
