The office market in York, England, is not very active although a call centre is due to open in Holgate Park. Several health and fitness operators are looking for space in the city centre. Some development in the retail sector is going ahead, with the 60 million pounds sterling redevelopment of Coppergate II under consideration by the authorities. A number of budget hotel firms are looking for space in centre of the city. The tourist market, in York, is valued at 250 pounds sterling per year. It has over 4 million visitors annually.

Solihull, England, and the M42 corridor is becoming more popular with office developers leading to a number of vacancies. Rents have risen, with secondhand offices achieving rents of around 19 pounds sterling per sq ft. Whilst new offices demand rents of about 20 pounds sterling per sq ft. There are several new projects planned for the outskirts of Birimingham, England, with some speculative building going ahead at Trinity Park and Birmingham Business Park. Some local agents point out there is insufficient development in Solihull.
