Headline rents - the current problems
Article Abstract:
Recent court cases have highlighted the problems facing landlords seeking to achieve headline rents for their commercial properties. The changes in the commercial property market have led to landlords offering longer rent-free periods than previously to persuade tenants to take a lease and the practice has caused problems when subsequent rent reviews are negotiated. Advice to landlords seeking to achieve headline rents, with reference to the Broadgate Square case, is presented.
