Labour makes inroads
Article Abstract:
The UK Dept of the Environment, Transport and the Regions wishes to see the construction of a considerable number of houses in the South. It is uncertain how many of these would be in Bedfordshire, England, or in Buckinghamshire, England. There have been mixed reactions to these plans, with some observers emphasizing the need to ensure that housing development is sustainable and others stating that investment should be more evenly spread across the UK. The policy of encouraging housing development on brownfield sites may create problems, as developers will not purchase land on which they cannot build acceptable housing.

Cool cats on hot roofs
Article Abstract:
Some property agents point out developers will still find it worthwhile to convert smaller office buildings into residental units in the West End, London, England. Competition for sites suitable for residential development remains strong. Office rents have risen making office development attractive once more. A new block of flats in Mayfair proved very popular, with over 60 of the 70 available flats already sold. It is likely prices in the residential market will continue to rise.
