Midwest star brightens: Illinois' invigorated industry initiatives
Article Abstract:
Future prospects for the Midwest in attracting companies across industry to establish their facilities in the region have gotten increasingly brighter. The Midwest region has eight states with Michigan and Ohio, ranked as the No. 1 and No. 3 states, respectively, in attracting new and expanded corporate facilities. Illinois, which is not far behind these two states, is playing catch-up with its recently enacted Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit legislation.

The business numbers' strong case: choose Oklahoma
Article Abstract:
Oklahoma is attracting a growing number of companies with its low business costs and incentives. The state's property taxes, corporate income taxes as well as energy, tax and labor rates are among the lowest in the country. Incentives such as the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program gives direct cash payments to firms that generate new jobs while an accelerated schedule for depreciable property is offered to businesses that set up shop in former Indian lands.
