Mirror, mirror on the wall
Article Abstract:
The highly competitive United Kingdom beauty industry represents 0.5% of yearly household income in the UK. Recession has caused many of the larger beauty companies to merge, whilst competition comes from supermarket label goods and stores discounting products such as perfumes. Since the 1980s the growth of stores such as Body Shop, which offer good quality goods at low prices, have increasingly challenged the traditional manufacturers who have responded by opening their own stores.

Out and out success?
Article Abstract:
UK leisure park operators have to prove to the planning council that they have investigated all in-town site opportunities before they can obtain planning permission for out-of-town locations. Leisure parks, with multiple leisure activities under one roof, are becoming increasingly popular. The applicant often seeks out-of-town locations because they are less expensive and more readily available than in-town sites.
