Beware the fire trap
Article Abstract:
Changes in the UK Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 has meant landlords and tenants of offices are responsible for their own fire certificates. A hazard analysis and risk assessment must be carried out and recorded, in order to comply with the regulations and to validate the fire certificate. Property managers and employers may be fined or imprisoned if fire regulations are not followed and workers are being placed in serious risk. The new regulations do not apply to office buildings which contain less than 20 people.
