Plenty of pubs but no beer allowed
Article Abstract:
The economy of Chelmsford, UK, seems to be picking up, and this is boosting the town's property market. Chelmsford has the highest availability of offices in Essex, at 25%, but the lowest availability of industrial buildings, at 3%. The town's public house sector is held back by the strict interpretation of licensing laws by police and the council licensing panel. The property sector in Chelmsford could be given a large boost if BT chooses the town for a 13,935 sq mt office project: BT is considering two sites in the town as part of its Workstyle 2000 project.

Waiting for the signal

The Jubilee Line extension will bring the borough of Greenwich into closer contact with the rest of London. It will also benefit from plans being developed by the Greenwich Waterfront Development Partnership (GWDP), which will make the Greenwich Peninsula the focal point of the UK's Millennium celebrations.
