The north London borough of Hounslow has successfully attracted international businesses over many decades. However, Hounslow council fears that the borough could now face stronger competition from other locations in the UK and abroad, especially as problems such as traffic congestion and poor maintenance emerge. There are now plans to link leading employers, landowners and local authorities to improve the borough's prosperity. In Ealing, a number of developments are underway, but there has been limited interest in office space.

The area of the north London borough of Hillingdon near Heathrow airport is not a major office location, as it is mainly an industrial environment. However, there is still demand from occupiers needing proximity to the airport, and the area has attracted a number of hotels. The development which has been most successful is Stockley Park, which will eventually provide 2.3 million sq ft of offices.

There is still strong demand for retail space in Kensington High Street, but less interest in King's Road. One of the key issues in the property sector of the north London borough of Kensington and Chelsea at present is the need for King's Walk shopping centre to attract more customers. Almost all new developments in the borough are now required to include residential space.
