Crossing the divide
Article Abstract:
There has been stronger competition between Cardiff, Wales, and Bristol, England, for property occupiers since the opening of the Second Severn Crossing in 1996. Both cities are undertaking large-scale waterside regeneration schemes. The costs of occupation are lower in Cardiff than in Bristol, but the latter is a much larger city with a larger catchment area. The topography of Bristol makes its Harbourside waterside regeneration scheme more central than Cardiff Bay, which is around a mile from the city centre.
