Property developers in Bournemouth, England, are drawing up plans for a 30 million pounds sterling retail and leisure scheme on the site of the former bus station. The 150,000-160,000 sq ft development will include shops, a multiplex and a restaurant. Meanwhile, retailer Marks and Spencer has denied plans that it will move out of the area and says it is planning to expand both in and out of town. Neighbouring Poole is aiming to improve its tourist attractions, with plans for a factory outlet-style retail complex, which will include pottery manufacture.

British Airways (BA) faces the challenge of accommodation growing numbers of employees in a limited workspace by several different methods. Employees are encouraged to work on a flexible basis, working from home if possible and hot-desking to avoid under utilized office space. The newly built BA Waterside offices at Heathrow Airport where originally designed to accommodate 2,700 workers, although up to 5,000 people is the company's eventual target.
