Real estate taxation: recapture rules explained
Article Abstract:
Legislation relating to recapture of excess or recapturable depreciation is discussed. It is concluded that, overall, the average tax rate on real estate investments is greater than the average tax rate on stock investments. This could be because, on a risk-adjusted basis, the return on real estate is larger than on stocks.
