Studios in the spotlight at last
Article Abstract:
Hertfordshire towns Elstree, Hillingdon and Leavesdon may be future sites for film studio development to cater for extra capacity requirements which cannot be catered for at Pinewood studios in West London. Films are currently being produced in Britain at an increasing rate because of the United States' strong exchange rate. 56 films were made in England during 1995, 22 more than in 1993. Elstree is favoured by the industry because it has an already well-known name and has plans for television and film productions.
