Article Abstract:
Ford's production plant in Dagenham, Essex was first established after the war and the company's presence in Essex extends to its European headquarters in Brentwood and its research facilities in Dunton. The company has a powerful influence on the economy of the county, particularly its property market. However the company's reorganisation and the threat to its Halewood plant long term existence, raised fears that production of the Fiesta could move abroad, but Dagenham, Belfast and Bridgend plants will receive investments of $1 billion, and production of the Fiesta will continue at Dagenham.
