The development report card: executives give groups mixed marks
Article Abstract:
A Site Selection survey of corporate real estate executives is presented. Results show that US development groups rate well in terms of overall level of services offered but did poorly in helping companies cut occupancy costs. Executives prefer to initially contact state development groups when choosing sites and make use of their consultants to do so. Development groups make use of incentive packages to attract investments but a recent court ruling which prevented General Motors from closing down a Michigan plant may alter this prectice.
