Optimizing land use in multiuse projects
Article Abstract:
Linear-programming-based land-use planning models use equations to determine the acreage that should be allocated to particular land uses and product types. The variables that such models take into account include permitted density for various product types, inflation, annual absorption, carrying costs, and development costs. Methods of using linear programming to create optimal land-use plans are outlined.
