The U.S. South: population boom ignites facilities explosion
Article Abstract:
The population boom in the US South has attracted a number of corporate relocations seeking to profit from the region's skilled labor pool, stable tax climate and competitive labor wages. Aside from this factor, the South is segregating itself into distinct locations for specific types of businesses, adding to the skill of the workers and increasing contact with other businesses. Atlanta, GA, is attracting a lot of headquarter facilities, Memphis, TN, is attracting a number of distribution facilities and Orlando, FL, is fast becoming a location for high technology firms.

Breakthrough deals: new trend-setting corporate locations
Article Abstract:
The rapid changes taking place in business location patterns are pushing companies to discover industrial sites in nontraditional areas. Some of the breakthrough facility locations took place in areas not known for attracting investments. However, due to improving community resources and shifting location requirements, there are many sites that are contenders for investment. For office opportunities, the list includes Amherst, NY, Fairfield, OH, and Greenville, NC. Manufacturing location breakthroughs include Amarillo, TX, and Grand Rapids, MI.
