A baby at all costs?
Article Abstract:
There are many difficult ethical questions associated with the treatment of very premature babies. Advances in medical technology have made it possible to save many more of these babies than in the past, but in many cases the baby's chances of long-term survival without permanent disability are still very low. Indeed, around 80% of babies born at between 23 and 24 weeks gestation still die, even when they receive very advanced intensive care. There is also debate about the extremely high costs associated with treating very premature babies.

Cut the feeble apologies, just get out the sackcloth and flay yourself
Article Abstract:
Modern society is seeing a very strong trend towards apologizing. In the UK, this has been seen in Prime Minister Tony Blair's apology for the Irish potato famine and in Conservative party leader William Hague's apology on behalf of the party for entering the Exchange Rate Mechanism. Some observers believe that apologies made by public figures are not really sufficient. Indeed, the cynical believe that politicians make apologies merely in order to make themselves more attractive to voters.

No! She didn't? Oh yes she did!
Article Abstract:
Gossiping can bring benefits for a person's emotional health, according to recent research. It serves significant social and psychological functions, and serves a strong unifying force. It allows people to talk to each other, and gives them a means of testing their fears and fantasies. It has been found that both men and women gossip, but in different ways. Women tend to gossip about people in their own lives, while men gossip about more remote figures.
