A chilling bedside manner
Article Abstract:
Many of the unspoken rituals and intimacies of hospital life are reflected in the work of Zarina Bhimji, artist-in-residence at Charing Cross Hospital on a commission from the Public Art Development Trust. Her work frequently features shorn locks of hair, representing the violation often experienced by patients undergoing medical treatment. She has also used the chemical techniques of photography to portray other forces of intrusion, pain and change.

Article Abstract:
Nova Scotia attracted more than 1 million tourists in 1994, but only 7,500 came from the UK, where very little is known about this Canadian province. It has an extremely attractive coastline, and is very uncrowded. The capital, Halifax, is small and clean, and features the second largest natural harbour in the world.
