A step in the wrong direction
Article Abstract:
Classical ballet teacher Linda Goss has been determined to pursue legal action against the Royal Ballet School, even though this will bring her considerable financial problems. She was made redundant from this institution in Jan 1996, and believes that her dismissal came about because she spoke out against the very harsh conditions which pupils were forced to endure. A tribunal has now ruled that she was wrongfully dismissed. Some observers believe that classical ballet training in the UK is now in a very poor state.

Inside America's dying rooms
Article Abstract:
Nursing homes for the care of the terminally ill in the US are no more than warehouses for the dying. They are very cheap to run, and can therefore be extremely profitable. Patients are treated simply as objects, and staff are untrained and poorly paid. It is common for records to be falsified, and personal items are often stolen. The families of the terminally ill are very afraid of what is happening, so do not complain about the very low standards of treatment.
