Turn on, tune in, transcend
Article Abstract:
It is good when music videos reflect the big moment in a record, according to Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers. This view is shared by Tom Rowlands, who believes that there are around 100 of these big moments in the video for 'Let Forever Be.' Simons regards these moments as indicating that sensation and imagination allow people to go beyond everyday life. He is very attracted to the idea of the imprint of music that is no longer there. They have converted this idea into their concept of the 'Turin Shroud Theory of Implied Music.'

Old values, new treats from Cornershop
Article Abstract:
Music group Cornershop has received widespread praise for its music, especially 'When I Was Born for the 7th Time,' its latest album. However, it is still struggling financially, and all of its members except vocalist and song-writer Tjinder Singh have jobs. It is very difficult to get people to rehearsals, and this has placed a strain on the group as it prepares to perform in the UK with Teenage Fanclub. It is possible that the group will break up if this situation does not improve.

And now for some fans
Article Abstract:
Rock group Teenage Fanclub's music stands out from that of other groups because it is harmonious and romantic, rather than dealing with the negative aspects of life. The most recent album, 'Songs from Northern Britain,' which is to be released on Jul 21, 1997, has a very dreamy, flowing quality, even though it was actually produced with considerable difficulty. The group seems to have found its creative niche, and is now focusing on writing love songs with lasting qualities.
