A kiss for the leprous
Article Abstract:
The 1993 play 'A Perfect Ganesh,' in which two middle-class, middle-aged American women are seen taking a journey to India, is not a documentary, according to dramatist Terrence McNally. The play is soon to receive its UK premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse. It deals with people's incapacity for change when faced with new experience, and also focuses on love and repulsion, as does McNally's show 'Masterclass.' This work uses as its framework the well known public teaching sessions undertaken by Maria Callas in the early 1970s.
