A larger degree of dosh
Article Abstract:
UK graduates can generally expect to earn considerably more than their non-graduate counterparts who have similar backgrounds and levels of ability, according to a report from the Institute for Fiscal Studies. However, the financial advantages of gaining a degree may be diminishing as more and more school-leavers enter higher education. The number of graduates has doubled over recent years, but there has not been a corresponding rise in the number of graduate jobs. It is increasingly common for graduates to take jobs for which they are over-qualified.

Loans plea for part time students
Article Abstract:
The UK's Open University believes that there are strong economic and moral arguments in favour of giving the country's 500,000 part-time students access to the same funding opportunities as full-time students. Research commissioned by the Open University indicates that there would be minimal short-term costs associated with offering loans for study expenses to part-time students taking first degree and sub-degree courses. The government is believed to be looking favourably at the possibility of making funding available to part-time students.

Real choices?
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly clear that there is a serious mismatch between secondary school places and pupil numbers in many parts of the UK, especially in London. Popular schools have become far too full, while less popular schools have many empty places. Attempting to get a child into a particular school can be a very stressful experience for both the parents and the child, and parents often feel betrayed when they realise that full parental choice is not really available.
