A loan for all seasons
Article Abstract:
Mainstream mortgage lenders in the United Kingdom tend to be reluctant to lend to the self-employed. Almost a fifth of the UK workforce is self-employed or in temporary work. Self-employed people may have to present audited accounts or tax statements for two or three years, or they can raise some 25% of the price of the property themselves. Self-employed people may seek to minimise their profit for tax purposes, and this can work against them when they want to obtain a loan. Flexible mortgages maybe especially appropriate for the self-employed to gear payments in line with income.

Mortgage options for single people
Article Abstract:
The mortgage needs of single people can differ considerably from those of married couples. A single person seeking a mortgage who does not intend to have a family will not require life assurance, but will need some form of income protection, especially if no other source of financial support is available. Single people who cannot afford income protection insurance should save enough money to cover expenditure for three months if an emergency arises.
