Abrasive man from the Pru
Article Abstract:
Mick Newmarch, who recently resigned as chief executive of Prudential, the largest insurance concern in the UK, was known for his outspoken and flamboyant approach to business. He had been with the company since the age of 17, and this meant that he had always been isolated from the rest of the insurance world. He held very strong views on industry issues, and this often alienated him from the heads of other leading insurance companies.
