Step aside, Zorba, for Dora the new Greek
Article Abstract:
Greek Minister for Culture Dora Bakoyiannis, 45, is the daughter of Prime Minister Konstantinos Mitsokakis, who lived in exile in Paris when the Colonels' junta came to power. Her husband was an MP but was assassinated by the 18 November terrorist group in 1989. Greek widows usually wear mourning for life, but many Greek women now have careers. Mrs Bakoyiannis represents the smallest, poorest constituency, Euritanea. She believes the clear values of culture are very important.
