After 65 million years, the world at last begins to understand dinosaurs
Article Abstract:
Palaeontologists are beginning to gain significant insights into how dinosaurs behaved and what they looked like. A number of very important discoveries have been made since the mid-1990s, including the recent discovery of the first dinosaur species to be found on two continents. A clutch of dinosaur eggs discovered in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia indicates that female dinosaurs brooded like birds, while the discovery of perfectly preserved feathered dinosaurs in Liaoning province, China, has confirmed the connection between dinosaurs and birds.

Exposed: secret sex life of the female deceivers
Article Abstract:
Genetic fingerprinting has proved that many chicks are not the offspring of the male bird paired with their mother. Traditionally birds were thought to live a monogamous family life, but scientists have discovered that extra-pair copulation is common to provide better quality chicks. Female birds deceive the partner who helps raise the chicks. Sperm lasts for days inside the female reproductive tracts so the mother can control who fertilises her eggs.

Even the scientists seemed amazed
Article Abstract:
Astronomers viewing the total solar eclipse on Aug 11, 1999, from the island of Alderney, England, were overawed by what they saw, even though they had thought that they knew what to expect. There was a magical atmosphere, especially at the moment of totality, when it was possible to see the glowing corona of the Sun as it cast its light on the outline of the Moon. Many people cheered spontaneously when the Sun began to reappear.
