Aim to destabilise Saddam's regime
Article Abstract:
Operation Desert Fox, under which air attacks are being launched by the US and the UK against Iraq, seems to be designed to bring about the end of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's regime, as well as to destroy Iraq's military capabilities, according to military experts. The air attacks initially focused on airfields, conventional military bases and radar sites, but subsequent attacks have targeted the barracks of the Special Republican Guard and military intelligence headquarters. The UK Ministry of Defence has emphasized that all locations attacked have been legitimate military targets.
