Sir John Woolf

Film and television producer John Woolf was educated at Eton and the Institut Montana in Switzerland. He had become a joint managing director at General Film Distributors when the second world war began. He joined the Army, and in 1945 was director of Army Kinematography with the War Office. He returned to his old job in 1945, but in 1948 set up Independent Film Distributors. He subsequently formed Romulus Films with his brother. One of his greatest successes was the musical 'Oliver!.'

Ralph Thomas
Article Abstract:
Film director Ralph Thomas was born in Hull, England, in 1915. He studied at Middlesex University College and in 1932 became a journalist on the Bristol Evening World. He later became a trainee at the Sound City studios.

Film producer Samuel Z. Arkoff was born in Fort Dodge, IA, in 1918. He graduated from law school and founded American Releasing Corp in 1954. This company later became American International Pictures.
