Alfred Janes
Article Abstract:
Artist Alfred Janes showed considerable ability for drawing and painting from an early age. He attended Swansea College of Art before gaining a scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools in London, England, in 1931. He painted his first portrait of Dylan Thomas, with whom he shared a flat, in 1934. He returned to live in Swansea, Wales, in 1936, and remained there until the second world war, when he joined the Army. He painted and taught on his return to Swansea in 1946.

Ken Kiff
Article Abstract:
Artist Ken Kiff was born in Dagenham, England, in 1935. He trained at Hornsey School of Art between 1955 and 1961. He first exhibited in 1970, and began exhibiting internationally from the mid-1980s.

Barry Burman

Artist Barry Burman was born in Elstow, England, in 1943. He studied at Coventry College of Art and the Royal College of Art, and in 1974 became part-time lecturer at Mid Warwickshire College of Art.
