Alive and shocking
Article Abstract:
Developing a writing career can be very time-consuming, according to novelist and actor Antony Sher. He believes that this is one of the main reasons why he has not really developed a career as a film actor. However, he has gained considerable critical acclaim for his stage roles. He has often played outsiders, possibly reflecting the fact that he was born in South Africa, rather than the UK, and that he is homosexual. He is shortly to read in Hay-on-Wye from 'Woza Shakespeare!,' the book he wrote with Gregory Doran, his partner.

Just call her Bond
Article Abstract:
It can be hard for an actor or actress to come to the attention of the general public unless they appear in a prominent film role, according to actress Samantha Bond. She has worked with a considerable number of highly respected theatre directors, and has established a particularly close working relationship with fellow actress Judi Dench. However, she has only ever had one very small film role. Most recently, she has been cast by David Hare in his 11th play for the National Theatre.
