Amnesty's message on Rwanda - silenced by British television
Article Abstract:
There are a number of significant difficulties associated with radio and television advertising by Amnesty International, which campaigns for the release of prisoners of conscience. This organization is not a charity, and its message is inevitably political at times, thus prompting some observers to claim that it should not be allowed to advertise. However, it has now obtained a judgement from the Master of the Rolls in the Appeal Court indicating that, in cases of doubt, courts should direct regulators to use their discretion in favour of free speech.

His reputation may be shrinking but his influence grows
Article Abstract:
The theories of Sigmund Freud continue to be surprisingly influential in the UK, even though a number of books published recently have been critical of him. Public sentiment continues to be interpreted in Freudian terms, for example, and Freud remains a best-selling author. His work is likely to remain influential while people are still able to take from it the elements which make sense to them. However, experts will continue to disagree about his legacy.
